Chickens Come Home to Roost

Parents are warned by child specialists not to gratutitously scare their children. Carl Rove and his cohorts apparently didn't get this message when growing up. The Bush administration has scared the bejesus out of the electorate with its constant message that the terrorists are coming. With clever childish language, they convince us that the terrorists are Arab and Muslim. Then, lo and hehold, they invite the alleged "Terroists" to come over and run our ports! Incredibly, they are astonished to find that there is unanimous, vocal opposition to this move. This scenerio induces head-scratching incredulity. What are these people thinking?

We've been scared to death of any brown-skinned person with odd headwear and a beard. Most of these folks aren't even Muslim. If we don't come to our senses we will be headed toward a modern-day defacto crusade against Islam which will prove to be catastrophic for the entire globe. People of faith: Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicans, Jews, Black Churches of every denomination, where are your leaders? Why aren't they countering these bogus fear tactics?

Once again, FDR's words bear repeating. "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
